Hotel Booking Chatbot

I’m excited to show you something I’ve been working on – a cool chatbot that makes booking hotels super easy.

Technology has transformed how we access services, and one innovation is the rise of AI-powered chatbots. In this project, I created a smart chatbot used for booking a hotel by integrating AWS Amazon Lex for its natural language processing paired with the efficiency of AWS Lambda for the backend.

Here were my steps:

Getting Started with Amazon Lex:

  • Logged into AWS to access Amazon Lex.
  • Console Setup: Went to the Amazon Lex console to create a chatbot for hotel bookings.
  • Task List: Set up the basics, like handling dates, locations, and room preferences.

Designing the Chat Flow:

  • Visual Planning: Used the Amazon Lex console to plan how the chatbot talks to users.
  • Teaching Phrases: Taught the chatbot to understand phrases like “book hotel” and integrate language learning by making it accept spelling errors.

Building the Hotel Booking Chatbot:

  • AWS Lambda Team-Up: Connected AWS Lambda with Amazon Lex to process user requests and execute other tasks needed for the hotel booking functionality.

Testing and Putting the Chatbot into Action:

  • Chatbot Test Run: Checked how the chatbot handled different phrases using the Amazon Lex console.
  • Tweaks and Fixes: Made adjustments to ensure the chatbot understood and replied accurately.

Check it out! This chatbot is like having a conversation with a helpful friend. You just say what you need, like “book hotel” and it figures things out for you. This project not only boosted my tech skills but also showed how language learning is key. What I love about this chatbot is how it understands regular talk. You don’t have to be super formal – just talk like you normally would, and it gets the job done. This chatbot could totally change how people book hotels. It’s all about making things simpler.

Here is the chatbot again but this time with different user inputs.

Thanks for checking out this project! If you have any questions or ideas on how we can make this even cooler, let’s chat! – Wendy.Loves.Tech
